This list includes local call numbers for every state in the US. Calling a local number can help put you in contact with nearby resources like counselors or psychiatrists faster than calling a national line.

The Code Green Campaign®

The Code Green Campaign® is a first responder oriented mental health advocacy and education organization. Also known as Code Green, we serve all types of first responders. This includes firefighters, EMTs, paramedics, dispatchers, police, corrections, air medical, and search & rescue. Our name is a combination of the color for mental health awareness (green) and the “code alerts” used in emergency services. If someone is having a stroke or heart attack first responders will call a “code stroke” or “code STEMI”. The idea is that Code Green is calling a code alert on the mental health of first responders.

Links to Facebook Support Groups

This is a group that discusses and seeks to eliminate HEALTHCARE WORKPLACE VIOLENCE.

This is a support group for Paramedics, EMT’s, Fire Fighters, Law Enforcement, and First Responders who are dealing with PTSD.

This group is for healthcare workers who have experienced lateral, vertical, physical and/or verbal violence in the workplace.

There is an absence of communities which provide support and resources to help with recovery after an assault. This online group was founded on the belief that we heal best not in isolation, but in community.

Pending legislation regarding health care and social service workplace violence:
Summary:

Passed House (04/16/2021)

Workplace Violence Prevention for Health Care and Social Service Workers Act

This bill requires the Department of Labor to address workplace violence in health care, social service, and other sectors.

Specifically, Labor must issue an interim occupational safety and health standard that requires certain employers to take actions to protect workers and other personnel from workplace violence. The standard applies to employers in the health care sector, in the social service sector, and in sectors that conduct activities similar to those in the health care and social service sectors.

In addition, Labor must promulgate a final standard within a specified time line.
